Online Notification Procedures for Residence Status Changes

Mid- to long-term residents are required to notify the Director-General of the Immigration Services Agency whenever a change occurs to their affiliated organisation or their activities. Using the ISA's Online Notification System, notifications can be submitted online, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without visiting an immigration office in person.

• Main cases requiring notification — A change of name, relocation or dissolution of the workplace or affiliated organisation, as well as a change to the organisation to which the person belongs (or their activities) due to resignation, departure, change of employer, graduation and similar events.
• Deadline: in principle, within 14 days — Notification must be submitted within 14 days of the date the change occurred.
• How to notify online — After registering as a user of the ISA's Online Notification System, notifications can be prepared and submitted from a computer or smartphone.
• In-person and postal notification also available — In addition to online notification, submissions can also be made in person at a regional immigration office or by post. However, changes involving personal details such as name or nationality, or a change of residential address, are not eligible for online notification.
• Note on failing to notify — Late or false notifications may be subject to penalties.
