SSW Periodic Reporting — New Attachments Added, Grace Period for Submissions After 31 May

On 20 May 2026 (Reiwa 8), the Immigration Services Agency (ISA) published a follow-up to its earlier announcement that the SSW periodic report moved to an annual filing. 「今年度から、特定技能制度における定期届出の提出は、年４回の提出から年１回の提出に運用が変更となり、４月１日から５月３１日の間に提出することとなりました。」 ("From this fiscal year, the periodic report under the Specified Skilled Worker (特定技能) system has moved from four filings a year to one, to be submitted between 1 April and 31 May.")

• From this filing round, new attachments have been added: records relating to labour and social insurance, and a tax payment certificate, among others.
• Because of congestion at issuing offices, if a government-issued certificate cannot be obtained by 31 May, it may now be submitted after 31 May.
• All other required documents must still be submitted by 31 May.
• The Japan Pension Service's "Social Insurance Premium Payment Status Reply Form" (社会保険料納入状況回答票) may be replaced with a copy of the "Health Insurance and Employees' Pension Insurance Premium Receipt or Payment Notice" (健康保険・厚生年金保険料領収証書又は領収済み通知書の写し).

Accepting organisations and registered support organisations should identify early which attachments have been added and which items qualify for the grace period.
